Brucy Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Hello All, Got a small problem where on the register screen, when you highlight the mark (to show who has/will record the mark) it is showing the wrong staff member. I have timetabled the TA's into lessons and it seems to be picking up their name even thought the teacher is set as the main member of staff, and is the one who appears on the timetable and in the list of staff in Student Teacher View. Hopefully I've explained myself well enough! Anyone got any ideas? Andy

matt40k Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I want to say Manage Classroom staff, did you say it's correct in other parts of SIMS .net (ie other then Nova)? Tools > Valid Memberships (actually does that fix anything now? Or am I thinking of DB Diagnostics) Sorry mind is a bit over the place.
Brucy Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Will validate memberships help? The pupil is in the right class and the teacher comes up correctly when you print the pupils timetable. I have noticed that there are the red boxes when you look at the timetable in SIMS (double clicking shows both members of staff) but the teacher is the staff member whose name appears. I hope you all follow?

matt40k Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Try: Focus > School > Academic Structure > Curriculum Assignment by Student Search for student and select click on 2. Timetable > tick the teacher in the clash bit and Save. See if that fixes it. I think that's it... otherwise I think it's Nova-T... where's mr Red square when you need him

Sivadam Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) I would guess that you have added the TAs via the Classes Screen in NT6. I assume that you have ensured that the Main Teacher has been assigned here! I never add Class Support Staff (either Teachers or TAs) via this method. I always add them via the Timetable Screens. Doing it via this method does not produce the issue that you describe in SIMS! If you transfer to NT4 you may get the issue there however! It is normal practice for the Class Support Staff to have access to the SIMS Registers, but not as the main Class Teacher! Edited August 30, 2011 by Sivadam
Brucy Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Sorry to be thick but how do you mean via the timetable screen? I have added them currently via the edit staff routine in T6. I made sure the class teacher is always set as main which SIMS has taken on every screen other than the staff name pop up on the registers!
Sivadam Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 If you open any spreadsheet timetable in NT6, then you can add any spare staff to any timetabled class. These staff will then not appear in the classes screen, so they cannot be the main class teacher!
