ants1974 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Hi, I have a VLE with multiple sharepoint farms with around 6000 users. The users would like to access owa from the sharepoint site without having to sign in twice. Is there a way i can securely pass authentication between the two sites? I would prefer not to use UAG because of licencing costs. The OWA webpart is not an option as the users like the look and feel of the standalone OWA site. Any ideas? Thanks
teky Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Is this internal use or external use? If its external use what firewall are you using?
apearce Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 There isn't a way to pass authentication from from IIS site to another so this rules it out from SharePoint to Exchange. The best option is to deploy TMG and have a single listener for all the sites you want to have the single sign on.
apearce Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 if its internal - just ensure you have integrated login enabled for all sites and the Active Directory machines have the site URLs in internal or trusted zones in Internet Explorer
