[sims] Pesky Reports! Unable to Open Macro Storage Word 2010 [Solved]

Afternoon All..

 

Just wondering if anyone else has had anything similiar? Upgraded a few workstations to Office 2010 but I'm a bit wary of doing anymore, as run any word based report under Sims and it comes back with the Error 'Unable to Open Macro Storage'! (works on 2007 though!)

 

Works fine if you logon as an admin access account under Win 7 and Vista but any other Win account no chance! Just spent the morning faffing around in Component Services (changing the user) with no luck! and I've tried the Capita solution of 'replace the normal.dot' as it opens for admin I somehow doubt its that!

 

Any ideas? As I'm sure not going to make 'everyone an admin' to resolve this!

Have just run a general report in Office 2010 pro plus and it has ran alright except that it is in compatibility mode.

 

This is as an office admin test account which has very little access rights.

 

Another report in Office Excel 2010 comes up with the Macro enable tool but once clicked works absolutely fine.

 

I am sure it is permissions based on your installation, when you built the Office package did you use the OCT which creates the MSP file for custom install of the Office package?

 

That is all I can think of at this moment is that for ordinary users they do not have the Macro tools enabled in both Office 2010 word or excel.

Did use the OCT and then imaged it, you are correct all the installations are using that image. I'll do an install from the office disk and see if that helps..

Didn't work but by applying a bit of lateral thinking to what you told me bossman I've solved the issue! Turns out it was Word thinking the templates came from an unsafe source and blocking them, so a quick play with the protected view setting and we have reports that work! Hurrah!
