bondbill2k2 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Hey I was wondering what is the best way to distribute 4.0 to around 60 machines as I cannot find a .net 4.0 redistribution package, only a standalone installer and have only ever used a couple of simpel MSI's for distribution in the past. Thanks, Thomas
rich_tech Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) Hi, I got this installed over our site using a GPO, you have to extract the core and extended msi files from the standalone installer. Standalone file is here - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=0a391abd-25c1-4fc0-919f-b21f31ab88b7 I extracted the .net core x86 and .net extended x86 .msis from inside it after opening it up with 7-zip and just created a normal GPO for the installation of both those parts then. MSI is here YGG - msi - NetFramework4.zip Edited August 22, 2011 by rich_tech
36Degrees Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 We used the Script via GPO method as outlined in this thread. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/networks/76186-deploying-net-framework-4-a.html
