leemac13 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Hi Everyone, Just wondering if you could help me, somebody who i know has asked me to reformat their hardrive and reinstall windows 7 on their laptop because they have forgotten their password. When i have turned on the laptop before it even boots up a box appears asking for a hard disk password, and the same pops up when trying to access the bios. The person whos laptop it is has forgotten the pasword is there a way to get around it? I have never saw this before and im completly stumped so any help would be greatly appreciated.
ChrisH Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 There will be a specific reset procedure for it which may involve taking a panel off and resetting a jumper or some other method. What make and model is it?

plexer Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 You may be out of luck as it's a hard drive password. Ben
