oalcock Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 One of our users had issues with their local profile. I created a new profile for them but now there is a problem with when sending emails in outlook. When composing a new email, you can go to to and type in the first letter of am email address and a history bar will pop down, this has obviously disappeared with the new profile. Where is the history stored for outlook? Oliver.
ShorehamGeek Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Hi Oliver - this auto-complete of email addresses comes from a file with .nk2 extension that normally lives in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook If you've got a backup - just copy this file back across, and voila! If you haven't, you'll have to get creative.
oalcock Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Many thanks for your advice Shoreham Geek. I have tried this, but the outcome isn't Voila I am afraid. Does the user need to do anything like log off and log on or....
ShorehamGeek Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I think I replaced the file with Outlook closed, and then it worked as soon as Outlook was opened. Was there already a .nk2 file in that folder? If yes, I would rename your restored file with the same name.
