One of our users had issues with their local profile. I created a new profile for them but now there is a problem with when sending emails in outlook. When composing a new email, you can go to to and type in the first letter of am email address and a history bar will pop down, this has obviously disappeared with the new profile. Where is the history stored for outlook?

Hi Oliver - this auto-complete of email addresses comes from a file with .nk2 extension that normally lives in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

If you've got a backup - just copy this file back across, and voila! If you haven't, you'll have to get creative.

Many thanks for your advice Shoreham Geek. I have tried this, but the outcome isn't Voila I am afraid.

Does the user need to do anything like log off and log on or....

I think I replaced the file with Outlook closed, and then it worked as soon as Outlook was opened. Was there already a .nk2 file in that folder? If yes, I would rename your restored file with the same name.
