Quick Sophos question

I'm working on a few teacher laptops for a local school as they don't have an onsite tech at the moment but I've come across a problem with Sophos and need advice.

 

In Sophos there is a primary and secondary proxy option for updating but only the primary page is setup. How can I set the secondary proxy option if I don't have the password? Can the password be taken from the primary page via the registry or maybe taken from a different laptop which has both the primary and secondary update pages working correctly?

 

They are using Spohos 9.5 and it looks like a standalone version with no connection to the server.

The secondary update location typically will either be the LA or Sophos themselves. You can't copy the password(s) from the registry as they're all encrypted.

 

You are right to highlight this, as it means laptops would only update in school and not outside of school.

On the laptops that are working the proxy options are primary proxy is blank which I assume is for home with the secondary proxy option set for the EMBC which would work in school.

Fixed it!

Just copying the Sophos config folder from the working laptop did the trick.
