Sync Time With DC

How do you guys sync your clients time with your DC's? I have a few client machines that are not syncing the time.

They should be automatically syncing with the dc and the server that holds the PDC emulator role is the master time source

They dont seem to be doing. I have Server 2008 R2 with Windows 7 Clients. Any thoughts please?

Try going to your PDC and running the command to make it know it's a trusted time source and then the clients should start syncing up and if not then you can manually tell them to discover a time source (which will be your PDC). I did it not so long back here when we realized that the timing for our door system was off by 5 minutes (it's controlled by a machine on our network).

 

I can't remember the command exactly, something like w32tm and then your switches and parameters.

also w32tm /query /status tells you where clients are trying to sync to

We've always have net time /domain /set /y in the startup script, with DCs syncing with NTP for their time source

Just had a look at getting the attached.

Have uou double checked that the dc is a authporised NTP server? (Its isnt on by default if I recall)
