Offline Files error

Appdata /Roaming folder from the profile to a network location. This folder is then also set to be available offline

 

I have seen numerous problems with my profile. These include:

 

-permission errors when launching particular programs

-loss of desktop background and inability to change it

-inability to launch programs pinned to the task bar

 

I tried to view the security permissions of certain files from the client it says it is unable to find them or that they can't be displayed. Other files show me having full control yet I am unable to open the files or copy them to a new location. Checking the permissions directly on the server shows I have full control on all files in the AppData folder which suggests the problem is with the offline version of the files.

 

If i go to the Sync Centre --> Manage Offline Files --> View Offline Files, nothing happens. Numerous sync errors are also displayed in the sync centre relating to access being denied. The offline cache on the machine is set to be encrypted.

 

Client Version is windows 7

 

I want to know what is causing this problem and How can we recover the contents of the offline cache on the client rather than simply clearing it and starting afresh
