Some consider this controversial, but to my eyes the end result looks fabulous. When Gandalf returns to the shire (Chapter 3), the screen explodes with vibrancy. This should have fixed it. I'm going to wait to see if it's on offer about Christmas time I think

Arthur Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Something else which is quite annoying is the fact the each film is still split over two Blu-ray discs (each part being ~30GB). Thankfully there is a way to combine them. If only we had 1TB Blu-Violet-Ray discs.

I'm betting when The Hobbit (parts I & II) are released on Blu-ray so they can sell a special edition boxset for £100+ which also includes the extended editions of LOTR's. Most likely in 2014.

You mean even though they're blu-ray discs, I have to change the disc halfway through the film? Was in two minds whether to bother with LOTR, the novelty has kind of worn off for me, but I think this decides it.

arwen Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 As much as I want it, I cant see why I should... I bought all the extended collector versions when they came out on dvd, so I have all of the 'extras'. I cant really justify paying £50 quid for a movie that I already own, :-/

I dunno about you but I enjoy my toilet breaks and snack breaks ie nachos n dips or cheesey nachos , drink , pop corn, ice cream etc
