Having a not so fun game trying to get these to deploy.

I have read up on appdeploy.com and read a few threads on here relating to it.

I can get the AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi and iTunes.msi to deploy using the STANDALONE=1 /quiet /passive /norestart switches.

The QuickTime.msi just will not play ball, keeps saying a newer version is installed and fails, when its a clean machine!

Anybody managed to deploy using the latest version hitch free?

waking up an old thread..... has anyone got this to work? I am trying to deploy Quicktime 7.72 (latest version) via SCCM 2012 & have hit this problem where QT complains about a newer version even on a fresh install of Win 7.

I just fixed that problem yesterday. You will need to edit the MSI with an editor, I use Orca. Click the "InstallExecuteSequence" table and then look for "PreventDowngrade" by default it should be set to 1 change it to 0. That should resolve the problem.

every version of quicktime ever does that even if you run it manually apple dont seem capable of version checking correctly as above though a quick trip via orca (and i would rip out all languages other than 1033 as well otherwise it sometimes wont deploy as it thinks its in taiwaneese (i think some far east language anyway)
