tech_guy Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Can someone explain the licencing structure for Symantec Endpoint as we've been quoted by two different companies who have both told us contradictory things regarding the banding and the pricing? One company has told us we need to be in Acad Band A, whilst another has said we are eligible for Edu Band C. The prices vary enormously. We are a secondary school with an impending sixth form and due to become an Academy in January if that makes any difference. Many thanks.
tech_guy Posted July 8, 2011 Author Posted July 8, 2011 Is Endpoint really that bad lol that no-one has responded?!
garethEds Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Is Endpoint really that bad lol that no-one has responded?! Well I'm not sure how bad it is but Swansea LEA have just dropped it. We have now been moved over to Kaspersky. Gareth
sonofsanta Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Well, it works alright for us, but costs about £4 a machine a year for me, so once the EES details come through for me in a couple of days I'm seriously going to be investigation FEP. No idea what licence we're on, mind, we seem to have alternated between ACAD A and ACAD S (specialist school, so possibly to do with the SSAT).
Theblacksheep Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 I'm currently removing it after ESS and FEP coming along. quite annoying if a password was set to protect it. Cleanwipe isn't the best, especially if you have 1,000pcs.
