TekkyMatt Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Hi all, this is my first post and I'm not too sure it belongs here, but here it is anyway. (BTW CC3 server (Win2k), RM Appwizard etc etc) After creating the MSI for Fresco and allocating the package to other workstations Fresco doesnt work because most of the dll's that it uses for image compression aren't as self registering as they make out. Saving a jpeg, gif ... causes a crash. Simple (so I think), regsvr32 "C:\...dll" /s in a batch file. How can I do all machines at once bearing in mind I am not too familiar yet with what CC3 allows (or doesn't) me to do. Could I modify the MSI to run a batch file during install ? Kindest Regards to you all Matt
SimpleSi Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I know this might not sound constructive but... Give up now - use the time you'll waste on this, towards learning to play a musical instrument instead Any Black Cat Super Tools component is a heap of rubbish - they struggle to work on standalone machines never mind being deployed by MSI I have a suite of these, that one by one, Paw Prints has failed over the last few months. I am re-imaging the suite to get back to square one again. Having said that, I think contink has had some success in deploying these via MSI so maybe you should PM him or wait till he sees this post regards Simon
deerwood Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 To be honest, Fresco is quite old software. If you are having serious problems with it, I'd suggest looking at newer alternatives, maybe Dazzle, Revelation or the new Paint package from 2Simple, all of which do everything Fresco does and more. Have a chat with your ICT co-ordinator.
daveyboy Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 2Simple - If only all software support teams were like these guys /girls. Absolute magic.
craiglay Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 And the 2Simple software tends to come with MSI's too!! Craig
