ALS Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I am the new IT tech at a school that is using IEP writer. The software seems quite old, and confusing, although I haven't seen much of it and had no training on it at all, but I think we have it setup correctly. One problem that is occurring is the REVIEW comments are not saving when the teacher (the only one that uses the software) enters them and saves. They enter comments, SAVE it and all appears ok. Then when they close the student file down and re-open it, all the comments are gone. Is there a reason why it would do this?
ChrisH Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 If I remember correctly they will need full permission or at least modify on the folder that the program is installed.
ALS Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 Thanks. That's already in place. I was just updating this thread. I've spoken to Capita and apparently our version has a bug in it. Hopefully the "new" version sorts this out.
andy_b Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I have seen this before. Not sure if we have the bugged version or not - but clicking on preview before clicking save seemed to ensure the review comments were saved correctly.
ALS Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 Thanks. I will try that, although they have sent us a new version now so I'll wait for that to arrive.
Cache Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 It's worth bearing in mind also the IEP writer only writes certain fields back to the IEP, the rest of the data is pulled straight out of SIMS and even if you alter it in IEPWriter won't write back those pulled fields back from SIMS.
