maestromasada Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Good day to you fellows, Yet again, another question and dilema about budget cuttings. We are due to renew our license for RM CC4 Virus protect, seems to be working ok, only technical trouble is the problem with the flipping folder C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\I2_LDVP.VDB that sometimes eat all the space on the servers. I'm considering Sophos EM provide free from our LEA. Of course, RM does not support it, but have any of you tested on an RM CC4 network? Given the high cost for the RM license renewal, we'll have to switch over I reckon Any advise would be a plus! Thank you
russdev Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 What I will say if there was a candidate for most support non-supported piece of software by RM Sophos would be it. As they provide good discount to the LEAs to get into the schools. However which software is best that a different matter... Russ
clareq Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 We use Sophos on a CC4 network with no issues. I have a package that loads it during build. 1
synaesthesia Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Out of interest are you referring to RMVP4 or 5?
arthur231283 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 We also have RM CC4 and are running Sophos and all works fine. 1
maestromasada Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 Out of interest are you referring to RMVP4 or 5? RMVP4 going into 5 over the summer... if we address the licenses! Will have to give a chance to Sophos: budget this other gadget decisions. It doesn't make sense to pay a huge amount for an antivirus when somebody else offers you the same protection free, bit more of work I guess for the installation and deployement but once it works, there you go. Thank you for your tips, if it has already been tested then there is no reason why it shouldn't work on the humble network I support Good day! I bet some of your are counting the days!
