[sims] Postcode Database Updates?

Hi,

 

Is there a way of uploading a database of medical practices & their addresses into SIMS to save the hassle of creating lots of new records?

 

Is there a way of updating the exisiting address database in the same sort of way?

 

Looking to fill some holes.

Well stuff is linked in SIMS, so if you update GP1, then the people that are linked to GP1 will get updated automatically.

 

As for bulk importing medical practices, it's possible, but I doubt it'll be worth while compares to manually adding them, unless your doing it into hundreds of SIMS databases.

If you need the information go to NHS Choices - Your health, your choices, there may even be a way to export off the ODS but I am on leave so do not have access to this at the moment.

Under Tools Menu | Housekeeping, there are some bulk address tools, validating existing addresses would make sure they were up to date, and the other routines would help remove duplicates. If that's of any use to you.
