amcevoy Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Xp or Vista / 7? Basically you need to remove it from: c:\documents and settings\All Users\Start Menu or C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories Does anyone know how to remove the System Tools that can be found in "Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools" I've googled for hours looking for the solution but cant. Does anyone know how to disable this via GPO? Thanks
amcevoy Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 And you can deny access to it via gpo: Apply or modify permission entries for objects using Group Policy: User Rights But you may wanna test the outcome of that. Normally it is best to delete it in your image. Make sure you don't remove stuff that is required under the DDA. Disability and the Equality Act 2010 : Directgov - Disabled people If you don't know much about it seek advice.
Sam_Brown Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 For what it's worth I always found it easier to set the start menus by folder redirection in GPOs rather than pee about with "default user" \ "all users" start menus. That way you can start from blank and only add what you want as opposed to fiddling around trying to remove things that are going to affect all users logging on.
sted Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 or just attrib +h any offending items in the start menu
