6Foot2 Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 WTF? They've only just released 4!! Mozilla’s shift to a rapid release development cycle delivers cutting edge Firefox features, performance enhancements, security updates and stability improvements to users faster. elsiegee40 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Given that it tells me that at leats 3 plugins I use at home and two I use at work won't work in Firefox 5, I'm ignoring this upgrade for the time being. Firefox 4 may not be perfect, but at least the tools I use work!
3s-gtech Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 The 6 Beta is out now anyway, so see what happens with that!
sonofsanta Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 BTW, does anyone know a way to disable the new stupid tab bar behaviour? I'm not a Chrome user, I don't like the Chrome-like behaviour of the tab bar, I'd rather not get used to it as the whole point of FFirefix and its addons is to tweak it to your own liking, and it's causing me to close infinitely more tabs by mistake than I ever have done before. I've not been able to find anything in about:config or on the Google, if anyone else knows a way I will be eternally grateful...
Gatt Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Firefox Menu -> Options -> Menu Bar This turns the menu bar back on and gets rid of the Orange "Firefox" Menu Tabs are all along the top bar now..

Sorry, I should have been clearer... I like the tab bar along the top like that What I meant was the change in FF5 (not 4) where tabs remain the same size as you close them, instead of immediately resizing to fill the tab bar. I can understand the logic with regards to closing of multiple tabs, but I have a ten year habit of doing it the old way, since Phoenix 0.7, so I'd like the old way back!
Gatt Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Ah right yeah.. you know I hadn't even noticed that it wasn't doing that!! will have a look.
