We're looking to upgrade our Exchange 2003 Standard server to Exchange 2010 Enterprise - we currently have Exchange 2003 CALs which I gather we have to re-buy Exchange 2010 CALs

Question is - is that all we need for our users to use the mailbox/OWA internally and externally? Initially an MS rep told me an External Connector license was required, or was more cost effective than buying 2000 or so CALs?

If we have 2000 mailboxes I guess we need 2000 CALs as each one is effectively a 'device' accessing the mailbox - which could be a PC in school or at someones home.
