Web Hosting

Hi everyone,

 

I was just wondering, here in Kent our LA provides basic web hosting free to all of the schools. Is this the same across the country?

No...we have to pay for ours. Our county hosting is shocking. And the cost is extortionate.

We get it as part of the bb contract but it's not suitable for our use so we buy it from ariotek.co.uk

It is provided in EMBC land as part of the bundle, but some folk do also host in-house or use other suppliers in the past. EMBC has made some changes recently to improve capacity / performance and have some more changes coming up to help schools host more PHP intensive sites.
