01hanstu Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Hi, Our network is currently revieving a lot of spam. I have tried to enable the AntiSpam Agents, but they are not working. I did create a rule, that any emails that have the XYZ in the body or subject, would forward them to spam@... but then in started to forward all external emails to spam. Can anyone advise on how to leviate the spam situation we have. We are using MS Exchnage 2007, and help would be very much appreciated! Stu
sonofsanta Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Have you installed the anti-spam agent yet? Install / Uninstall Anti-Spam in Exchange 2007 It's not installed by default, you need to run a script to enable it, but then it will scan e-mails and try to classify them and act according to your instructions. Start with that if you haven't - it's worked pretty well for us.
sukh Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 1. Have you got any anti spam software on your Exch server or before your exch server 2. Are you using a edge server or do you have a hosted/external service which screeens email before they come into your Org? 3. Enable the Anti spam feature on exch if not already done 4. Configure filtering to block this sender by content/IP/Domain etc.. 01hanstu Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 EXCELLENT, The AntiSpam Agents would not install, so I end up stuck. That Microsoft article was excellent, good find! My support provider gave me the second article and said have fun Thanks again, I am really happy now.
Achandler Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 The microsoft anti-spam agent is actually pretty good. Your other choice is ofcourse a bought solution which may be relatively cheap as your anti-virus provider might be do one, though some don't or are just ridiculously priced.
