Ben-BSH Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Just a quick question, as i will have to do this soon, for approx 100+ PC's. As anyone managed to deploy Office 2010 via GP? without hassle? all the threads i have found seem to require multiple reg tweaks, templates and all manners of fuss i really would rather not bother with and just image them if that was easier. If you have, do you have the steps you took? Thanks in advance Ben.
jamesreedersmith Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I used this - works great Deploy Office 2010 by using Group Policy computer startup scripts 1
Ben-BSH Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Looks good! no idea how i missed that! many thanks, will give it a test in a VM tonight
sukh Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 You might want to follow this thread in case you have issue :-) Quite a few people followed that article and doesn't always seem to work. Post if you have issues, http://www.edugeek.net/forums/office-software/71945-problems-installing-office-2010-a-2.html

TheMinister Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Honestly, don't. There are known issues with certain modules of Office 2010 failing to install, even when manually installing. Citations and Bibliography being a big one.
RobBaxter Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 @Ben-BSH: also, just since i have done this to the links above about 3 months ago, seriously, unless you want added grief, use a MAK Key and not a KMS Key if you have any option with that number of PCs, i have 110 stations. I tryed KMS thinking, it will be "Easier", attualy its more hassle. Probably though just inexperience of using them, completely my fault, BUT at the same time you get 500 activations with MS anyway
