Mr.Ben Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) I have a licencing question about multipoint server. I will move to an EES agreement this year. As part of this I will licence 80 Staff and a Windows Multipoint Server (Academic/Premium) which I expect to run 4 Stations from. What CAL's will I need if I want to connect them to the domain? My assumption is that I will need 1 Multipoint CAL and 1 additional Server 2008 Cal for each Station, however I am getting different messages each time I ring Microsoft! Edited May 23, 2011 by Mr.Ben
BHMS Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 1 server CAL and 1 Multipoint CAL for each workstation including the host workstation.
Mr.Ben Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Having spoken to Microsoft, on an EES agreement i would be expected to purchase 80 user based CAL's for Multipoint Server for £480. However I can buy select, device based CAL's for £25 each (so £100). Why is this? Is there anyone out there from Microsoft who can clarify?
Stuart_C Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Won't the Server CAL's be included in your agreement? Thus you would just need the multipoint CAL's

This Website here outlines Multipoints CAL arrangements Edited May 23, 2011 by Mr.Ben
