Exchange 2007 accessing other mailboxes

When attempting this I get the following:

 

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

 

 

this is because its trying to go to https://mail.my.sch.uk/owa/[email protected]

 

however it should be going to https://mail.my.sch.uk/[email protected] as I've got owa pointing there instead and if you go to the second url it works fine so how do I (if possible) change the default url for this?

1. Not sure what you mean. Is OWA published as https://mail.my.sch.uk/[email protected] ? I.e if you type this in IE, you get prsented with OWA?

2. OWA/ is the default virtual directory, why are you trying to change this?

3. Run Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Server yourservername and post/PM results

Your Exchange server will also be running IIS to provide the web access part. The bit you need to change is in IIS, not Exchange - you could change the settings for IIS' root virtual server (the bit that handles "/index.html") to do a permanant redirect to "/owa/...".

The problem is with the forefront TMG forwarding everything I think as https://internalservername/owa works but https://externalservername/owa doesn't?

When you're trying accessing another mailbox is this internally or externally?

Externally. I have a couple of users that need access to seperate mailboxes so I was wondering how to achieve this with my setup as although OWA works with the direct school network name it doesn't with the TMG forwarded name?

4. Where did you change the https://mai.mu.sch.uk ? Was this changed as you say to omit the /OWA?

5. What did you specify as your internal site name when configuring TMG?

1). Yep thats fine

5). mail.sch.uk (Internal DNS supplies an internal IP for that domain name)
