Disable Network & Libraries from being shown in Navigation Pane

We'd like to have these two removed from the pane, just as a prevention method really. Ideally through Group Policy.

Libraries - Messes up folder redirection to our network home folders. We thought we'd solved this, but it keeps coming back.

Network - Allows the browsing of all devices on the network via NETBIOS. Even with Network Discovery turned off (forced by disabling "Function Discovery Provider Host/Resource Publication in Group Policy services), it is still possible. This is because we have an underlying programme that uses NetBIOS to send messages, and we can't remove that.

Having the options removed would save a lot of trouble.

I have been doing some research, but it all comes down to registry hacks. We're trying to avoid those, as we'd have to include them in our image.

We have had to add them to our image too. There are a number of registry hacks we have had to do to remove specific things from the environment. Some are done through group policy and others are added to the image, eve down to removing items from the context menu.

That's the route we've had to go down too, but we're looking for GP alternatives as much as possible. Just so when the next models of computers are ordered with Windows 7, the less faffing about we have to do with registry hacks.

Seems like there's no avoiding this one, other than registry hacks. Thanks guys.
