Pashers Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Hey all, Just wondering if you have any good free material on Citrix and how it works. I know the basics, but I don't feel like I'm comfortable with it if something happens. Or if we wanted to add a new thin client/accellerator. Thanks for your input
jamesfed Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Which Citrix product are you looking at specifically?
Pashers Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 XenApp and Desktop. I think I found a good PDF, so I'm going to read that - hopefully that'll have everything I need to know.
Stuart_C Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Actually I have the same question. I am looking at XenDesktop and possibly XenApp. I've found some books on Amazon, one for XenDesktop 4, not the latest V5 and on that seems to be exaclty what I want... In German. My german is weak. Anyone have any reading guidline (setup and confuguring, best practices etc.) I don't maind paying for propper books and whilst I've got some of the free versions downloaded I'd like to do some reading up to know more about what I'm doing.
Soulfish Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 XenDesktop 5 is radically different to XenDesktp 4, so stay away from XD4 guides if you can (for anything other than basic this is how it works info!) . Citrix Product Documentation Library is a good start, and has some nice guides on setting up quick PoC tests. The citrix forums and brianmadden.com are also good resources. I'll have a think and post up some other links when I've got five minutes
