BABVA Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hi all, Is there any way I can bend the rules within ISA so I can use MS RDC and enter a FQDN instead of its IP? At the moment my home & outreach server I can access from work using their WAN IP address but the FQDN (name.dyndns.org for example) just error. I read somewhere that RDC doesn't allow FQDN's but internally resolved ones work fine, also that you can use a HTTP parser?? within ISA to allow external FQDNs. Hope that makes sense and someone can help?
bio Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Let me see if I understand your question correctly: You are at work and you are working behind an ISA 2006 FW and trying to access your home PC via RDP ? It is possible via IP but not via FQDN ? bio..
bio Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 First check hostname resolving (DNS)...and please post logfile for further troubleshooting bio..
BABVA Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Yes that is correct but it is more so an Outreach site, not my home, that is the concern as when the IP changes we have to update a RDP rule in the ISA. May sound a bit green here but what log file?
bio Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 May sound a bit green here but what log file? Check the Proxy log and firewall log.. can be found in the ISA mmc bio..
