Optoma EX525ST dust problems

We have 12 Optoma EX525ST installed between Aug 2009 and Jan 2011.

 

They were installed by projectorsand parts.co.uk

 

so far we have had most replaced and have an engineer onsite to de dust them almost every month.

 

I have 4 down at the moment all with the same fault, The bulbs flicker and throw rainbow effects over the screens making it almost impossible to use.

 

Optoma say they are looking into the problem and are trialing a new dust cover in a school. I work in over 10 schools on a regular basis and have never come across this issue in the 15 or so years I have worked in education.

 

Has anyone had similar problems.

We had the same fault with optoma projectors, in the end we swapped them out with a company that "bought" them off us and we got discounted prices for our Sony VPL series projectors and Epson EB-Sx Series projectors (neither of which have needed anything more than a filter clean once every academic year and a bulb every 2 years).
