kennysarmy Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I have a PC which I've just upgraded from 9.5 to 9.7 When I check in the console the PC appears twice. Once correctly and another instance greyed out. If I remove it - it just re-appears when the group it's in re-syncs with AD. I tried removing the PC, re-ghosting and reapplying Sophos and it's still there. Could it be stuck in the Sophos database somehow? How can I manually remove this entry? Cheers.
FN-GM Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Did you remove both machines from Sophos? In the past i just deleted them both and the client will put only one back in the console automatically.
kennysarmy Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 Yep tried that : deleted them while the PC was re-ghosting...
ihaveaproblem Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Did you remove the machine from AD? Delete both from the sophos console and then remove the machine from the domain and AD. Then rejoin the domain and hopefuly when sophos does it's scheduled sync hopefuly it picks up just the one. I found sophos support to be very good. They always got back to my emails in less than 12 hours, on some cases within an hour! so you can always contact that them and receive a fast reply.
kennysarmy Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 This did the trick: After sync with Active Directory, Enterprise Console 4.5 lists duplicate computer names
