JoeBloggs Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Sometime ago I created a basic website for a friend - showed her how to create, edit pages and such and she hasn't had any issues. Now when she tries going to the administrator page it does not work. The following is displayed: Index of /administrator Parent Directory components/ Anyone come across this before? I have asked her and she said she hasn't done anything differently. version: 1.5.22 Any help much appreciated.
pcstru Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Looks like something has gone wrong on the server, either the .php files are missing or the server is not running php. Can you log into the server and have a look at the directories? Do you have a backup?!
JoeBloggs Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 The web server is using "Installatron" I restored to a previous back up but still didn't let me login to the administrator page
pcstru Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Can you get into the back end of the server at all to look at the logs? Is it apache or IIS? 1
JoeBloggs Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 can't see anything in the logs - apache i'm pretty sure
JoeBloggs Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 Logged in via ftp, it appears that the administrator fold is practically empty. I copied the administrator folder from another joomla site and copied it in to the directory. It has let me in and I am able to edit stuff via the admin control panel
pcstru Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 You should at least be able to see your client hit the server in the access log - probably /var/log/apache2/access.log . You ARE getting a response from the webserver but as it's throwing out the directory listing, either the .php files are missing, the .htaccess is misconfigured or missing or apache is not properly configured to run php.
