[sims] SIMS Spring 2011 and Office 2010

Hi all,

 

Despite capita releasing SIMS Spring Release 2011, we are still having great issues with office 2010. We have the security set to allow all macro's but despite this, when we run a report we are shown the mailmerge name rather than the data which should be shown.

 

For example if we go to run off a block of letters to send home, the address block comes out as

rather than the address.

 

Any pointers are welcome as this is now driving me mad!!!

we have the same issue, but on top excel crashes if you try to run reports to get student names and sort it by form group!!

Clear out my sims documents and tempsimsrpt folders from profiles.

 

Also, i don't suppose either of you moved to windows 7 around the time the problems occurred? We had massive issues with windows 7 profiles, mostly due to appdata redirection and the difference with old XP profiles, this is where the link to office comes in and throws a spanner in the works. Old xp and office 2007 is fine, but any usage on windows 7 went wrong unless all profiles were cleared out, and it's a pain to do on win 7 including registry hacking. This would then allow reports to run, exports and such like.

 

In addition, specifically for mailmerge there may still be issues, i dont know havent tested post Spring install, because the way Office 2010 does mailmerge has changed. I don't even thing the menu option is there is it?

Not the same situation, but it worked for someone else having issues with reports. Try running as the domain administrator account.
