mac_shinobi Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 Thanks for the suggestion but with the laptop being at the very least 3 years + old, there is no proof of purchase that I am aware of and I just wanted the iso of vista basic , as stated above I have the serial key. If that does not work then I should be able to use nlite for vista or if not xp HP G7000 Installing XP on Hewlett Packard (Hp) Laptop / Notebook - XP Drivers
TheMan100 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 (edited) Surely your serial key could be used as proof of purchase, "Proof of purchase can be: PID Number/CD Key number". Also, I've just read some where that it's not illegal to download Windows if you have a valid serial key; it's illegal to crack Windows or bypass the activation technologies. However, I'm unsure of that. Edited May 8, 2011 by TheMan100
Jamman960 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Any vista iso should do the trick - all vista discs have every version on them, the serial determines what you can install. I'll see if I can find a disc at work tomorrow
