Hi,

 

We're trying to stop our students printing more than 1 copy at a time. Is there a way to do this without additional software?

PaperCut Print Logger - a free print log monitor for Windows - PaperCut is free and will log all print jobs.

 

This should help you identify those who print excessively and give you the statistics you need to demonstrate the cost benefits of putting a proper printer management system in place.

Bit of a cludge, but if you've got the right HP printers you could do this by enabling "Mopier Mode" - saw this today as I was looking for a solution to a printer that *wouldn't* print mulitple copies:
