Belkin N600 DB and Modem Question!

Hi everybody,

 

I have a Siemens SpeedStream 6520 (free from the phone company!) and I wanted to upgrade my wireless capability. So I went and got a Belkin N600 DB.

 

That was all well and good until I realised that it didn't have a built-in modem!

 

So....Can I just hook the Belkin to the SpeedStream and just use the SpeedStream as a modem? Or would I be better off getting a specific modem?

 

Is there much performance difference between a cheap and expensive modem?

 

I think I've used up my quota of questions for now!!
