Just had a quote for a Dual Core Xeon server (no screen) for £1499 so it may be cheaper than you think. BUT check how much RM will charge to sort out a non RM server - in my experience they are very expensive!

Good reason to move away Actually I have to admit every school I've moved too has been using RM when I started and a Vanilla network as I leave main reasoningly they employed me to remove it and setup a network without the thought of huge support costs and licensing.
