RSS Feed with all new posts not just new threads.

As title says would be very useful me to have an rss feed that has all new posts not just new threads...

 

Either that or a way of subscribing to every new post...

RSS could potentially work but the amount of new posts mean a 5-10 minute refresh would miss lots.

The simplest way is to use iSpy on a second display etc for now.

Either that or a way to subscribe to every post automatic ..

 

Ispy won't work as I want to import it to a section on evernote..

Subscribe would be hugely bad idea because that would decimate the mail server if done by any more then a very few.

Not 100% on what you want to do exactly but iSpy is actually just a dynamic RSS feed behind the scenes (with a preview of the main comment), Easy enough to get to though, just crack open the js and have a look behind the curtin. I have a .net app that can pull the feed and dump it to a table, was going to do a new post sound notification but never got around to it.

There are several problems though with this, for one a direct query wont have auth details so BTRD etc wont appear. Also this is something that could easily break when they add session checking to prevent this approach.

That is what I want rss feed just looking through js files for the feed url... Once done that I then can import rss into evernote via tarpipe.net

In fact this will be blocked, iSpy is a registered users only page and it appears that the last update has disabled the check. It will be getting switched on again as that was the policy for iSpy sadly.

Thought it would, the official way to do things like this is to leverage the official API which handles auth etc

I will look at options for using that. I have just had an idea too about using the api to do automated keyword searches too which could prove useful

That sounds useful, was going to do something simmilar clientside on my moniter thing for modding but the inline thread update thing was switched off which at that time cut off easy access to the full individual contents of single posts as they arrived. Seemed less useful when it could only be applied to the preview

 

An API would definitely make stuff like that much easier.

It is interesting as it was my 'job' per say to read all posts I did now that not my job but want to keep up to date with things on edugeek.net I can see how hard can be for people to keep up to date with posts on edugeek.net.
