Group Policy Problem - Filtering: Not Applied (empty)

Hi,

 

I have created a group policy called QV- Inventory. Its to run a startup script. I have set this as a startup script on the correct OU. I can see the script in the group policy.

 

The script is failing to run at all. Its fine if i run it manually. But ones i made weeks ago are still running fine.

 

When i do a GP result i am getting the attached.

 

Does anyone know why it is doing this please?

On a PC when you run the GPresults is the policy being applied?

Is it being applied to any PC or not running at all?

Well its being filtered out according to GPresult

Sorry, What I mean is the actual gpresults output to see which GPO's are applied to the PC and USer.

So you've created the GPO, but under the GPMC, look for the group policy, look under the scope tab, and security filtering. Have you added in a group or device/user that you wish the policy to apply to?

Left it default, so then it applies to all computers in the OU

Dumb question......did you link it to the OU and under the scope tab it shows Authenticated Users?

Ok another silly question, but the part of the policy (computer/user configuration) that you have made these settings in, you have made sure that part is enabled? Under the details tab and GPO status?

Ok under the details tab, disable the user part configuration...without any settings this will just confuse the issue and will give you the "Filter not applied (empty)" error.

 

once this has been done, try a GPupdate /force

Then run another gpresult to check your error is still there

 

If your problem still exists, try removing "Autenticated users" and adding in the device you wish to test on.

Then repeat the above steps again.

Yep they seem to be, just setup a machine and its installed all the software it needed to. The software is deployed by startup script. I could see the startup scrpt running and software installing.
