Laptop hinges

One of our Toshiba laptops, out of warranty, has developed really creaky hinges so much so it feels as though the whole things coming apart. Is there any lubricant that's suitable to use?

guar gum oil. works a charm, may make it a little stiffer than usual (barely noticable), but the hinge lasts a whole lot longer, however I only managed to get this as its used for heavy duty machinery and a friend of mine works where it is used.

Have you removed the LCD screen bezel and checked the screws that hold the screen to hinge are tight ?
