get the kids to open word, then open the file but you need to make sure that the file types are set to all then open the file. Then save it as a .rtf. Also tell them to save the work at home as a rtf or give them a copy of open office and that will work with office.

You can download free converter packs to convert Works files for Office from Microsoft. Do a search on Works converter at the microsoft download site. I also tell the kids to save there files from Works as RTF files, not that they remember.

Thats the one i've posted up to save trawling through the mess that is the MS site.
