Last week we had a strange problem with students ICT coursework where videos (all in WMV) and audio inserted into powerpoint would no longer play (but had previously) and when users selected play they were just shown a white screen where the video should be. The videos play fine outside of powerpoint still and are located in their documents, when removed from the slide show then added again they still won't work. However when I moved the video file into another directory and added them again it works :D as I thought the path length might of been too long. Problem solved?

No afraid not as today the exact same problem has occured including those who had the path and location changed. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Just found out its a 128 character limit on the path and im not sure why it would of worked before and now doesnt, maybe the path before the user logged off was relative and now its absolute?

Hi

Have you got the l atest version of Windows Media player and directX installed?

What OS are you using?

Is this issue on all PC's?

Can you try another PC?
