pingleict Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 At the risk of sounding a cheapskate, we might be able to get an ex-corporate TVT-1250 Bloxx box. Would this be a good move? I've seen the various thoughts about cost for a new system as opposed to Smoothwall, which appears to be the most favoured. However my main question is: Would a 2nd user Bloxx system be a good move? We currently use Censornet Pro. Not a bad system, except we can't do blocking on words / phrases and sometimes some inappropriate Google images. Thanks
tom_newton Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I would suggest that at a minimum you would have to contact Bloxx and buy the renewals, and they might not be fantastically keen from a hardware support point of view. I don't want to put words into thier mouths of course, but Bloxx is a lot more than just the box it runs on IYSWIM. If you want to look at Smoothie stuff - and you might find that running Smoothie on your own tin is fairly cost effective - I suggest you PM SeanLaz on here - he looks after your area.
