mthomas08 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Really does make it feel much better, very good simple idea (meant as a big compliment), hard work, some time = great result Some people would resulted in being over the top but what you done there does make a difference. 1
Butuz Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Looks very nice!!!! Congrats mate!!! If you fancy a tiny bit of constructive criticism - make the animated banner much much smaller. The header plus main menu plus amimated banner takes up almost 75% of my screen and thats at 1280x1024. I almost have to scroll before I can see anything at all! If you don't fancy a bit of constructive crisicism - IGNORE ME! Butuz 1
glennda Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Also theres errors on the site and the validator at the bottom is cross threw because of it! [invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.painsley.co.uk/homepage/index.asp - W3C Markup Validator 1
firefox_2006 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Nice, quite like it, better than my effort lol. Which template are you using? 1
FN-GM Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 It does look well. All the logos at the bottom. I would try to arrange them so they dont take up as much space. Also there seems to be a few different fonts used. Myself, i would have it so you only use one. on the "Prospective Parent?" i would put the PDF logo on the left hand side so they all line up. - like it is on the PTA page. On the community page there seems to be a few empty bullet points and items such as "ROCK Scheme" & "Local community use of school premises" look a little out of place. on the Curriculum page, i would change the maths logo to something more maths related. Such as numbers, calculators etc I would also remove all the e-mail links and put images of the e-mail address instead. This will prevent spam. 1
gibbo_ap Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 Nice, quite like it, better than my effort lol. Which template are you using? its not a template, all hand with a custom backend in asp.... moving to joomla in the next month tho. the head just wanted a refresh now
gibbo_ap Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 Also theres errors on the site and the validator at the bottom is cross threw because of it! [invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.painsley.co.uk/homepage/index.asp - W3C Markup Validator when the site was orignally created in 2007 the code was valid, but as it has bloated it is not valid any more. moving to joomla so that will fix that

glennda Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 when the site was orignally created in 2007 the code was valid, but as it has bloated it is not valid any more. moving to joomla so that will fix that it was just the fact it was crossed through - i'm guessing they are not major flaws as its all displayed correctly just you might want to remove the validator part!
