ihaveaproblem Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Does anyone have experience with this? It seems like it should be easy to do... however i've spent a good amount of time on it now and reading through the help file provided with no success. Simply, i want the intergrated card reader that reads sd,xd and more to be assigned to drive U: for example What do i put in the ini configuartion for this to work? My usb drives map perfectly to the assigned letters in the .ini, I just cant get the card reader to map to a set letter. I'm sure this must be simple and i'm being daft..if anyone can help please! thanks very much.
andy_b Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Just had a quick go as not set specific letters for card readers, used: [DriveLetters10] DeviceType=MSCR Letters=W,X,Y,Z and this seemed to work. I have the settings in the registry - but they should be exactly the same. Are you restarting the USBDLM service each time you are editing the settings? 1
ihaveaproblem Posted March 16, 2011 Author Posted March 16, 2011 Thanks Andy, Thats the same as i've been trying [DriveLetters10] DeviceType=MSCR Letters=G,H I restart the service and insert the card, but it gets mapped as F: This is on a laptop, not that it should make any difference.

andy_b Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Ok, i'll read the question better next time.... the integrated reader won't work with this method. Instead of using DeviceType you need to use DeviceId Run ListUsbDrives_To_Notepad.cmd and find the Drive DevID and use that to populate the DeviceID settings, e.g. [DriveLetters10] DeviceID=SD\\VID_27&OID_5048 Letters=W,X,Y,Z That should work
Bezwick Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Oh and not pointed out the program is very flakey if used in Vista or Windows 7 so i would recommend you only use it for XP.
