That's right I am not that fond of cats. However among other survival stories coming out of Japan now:

 

A 4-month-old baby is pulled from rubble in Aier smiles as he holds a four-month-old baby Self Defence sold who survived the recent tsunami with her family at Ishinomaki city

A ship ripped from its moorings with 81 dock hands aboard has been found. The dock workers survived their ride to sea on the waves of the tsunami and were airlifted to safety, Jiji news agency reported Saturday.

Edit: Re-reading this post I think it may seem flippant. I do not intend to come across this way. In all the bad news there is some good news coming out. Also I would not wish cats ill.
