[sims] 'External exception C0000006' when running SIMSINST.exe [Solved]

I'm setting up a laptop for a teacher and when I attempt to install SIMS.net I receive the error in the title, and instruction to report this error to our local SIMS support team.

 

Now, rather than go straight to them, does anyone have a clue as to what the cause of this is?

Found the answer - CA eTrust. Even though its all marked as exclusions, it was obviously interfering. Now disabled and installing fine.
