laserblazer Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 My satnav has been very slow to find satellites lately and I wonder if the increased solar activity has anything to do with it.
Andrew_C Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Not impossible; I've not heard anything else to suggest this is happening though.
Hightower Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Not impossible; I've not heard anything else to suggest this is happening though. Apart from Rupert Murdoch's take-over of ALL things in the sky?
sonofsanta Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Apart from Rupert Murdoch's take-over of ALL things in the sky? Murdoch in takeover bid to purchase God? Oh no wait, such an attempt would mean acknowledging there's someone else older and more powerful than him. Can't have that. (not to mention more distrustful of foreigners and those who don't follow him, if we're talkin' Old Testament)
laserblazer Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 It's finding the satellites fairly quickly again, so maybe it was atmospheric conditions.
CHR1S Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Thick cloud will do it, as will a coated screen, reflections from buildings and LOS. Does your satnav have the ability to show you how many birds you have a lock on?
