As anyone at SO2 or above been through job evaluation?

If so, what is your job title? Did you receive a drop in pay?

I have currently been waiting over two years to have my JD evaluated, if I worked at SO1 or below then I wouldn't of had a problem.

Many Thanks

Yes, I was on the old SO2 scale, when the single status review was done they changed the grading scales so that the top scales of SO1 and the bottom scales of SO2 were combined and the top of SO2 and bottom of PO1 were combined. We have different scales for ICT/Network managers in our LEA depending on size of network, responsibility etc and they tried combining the top two of these into one on the lower of the two new scales. A bit of prodding from us on the higher JD to HT's and the council had this decision reversed so I went onto the SO2/PO1 grade and ended up with a bacdated payrise.

Currently the ICT / Network Manager job descriptions only go upto SO1 in my LEA; so this is why I am strugging to get my job evaluated (must say the school is fully behind me).

Ah, right, what you'll need to do is add extra management responsibility into the JD, specifically taking on a responsibility which is currently at SLT level seems to do the job.

The thing is I am a member of SLT with responsibility for strategic management of ICT.

It took 18 months for the LA to come back to us saying they had lost my job description; now they keeping asking for silly bits of information.

Will take another 2 years at this rate!!!

yes

Title doesn't have any relevance to pay whatsoever. You could be the 'supreme overlord of all things ICT' and still be on a low grade - it is the role and responsibility that get the grades, not the title.

Did you receive a drop in pay?

No. You generally need to focus on:

Line management responsibility - the more you manage, the more your grade

Financial Responsibilities - the more money, the more your grade

Strategic Leadership ie long term whole school planning - your on SLT so shouldn't have too much trouble with this
