Zoom7000 Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I've tried blocking some websites by adding them to my hosts file. However, for some reason it's stopped working. (i.e The websites are still working even though I have re-routed them to the local host) I've used the usual method: E.g. 127.0.0.1 runescape.com Is there any reason the file isn't doing what it should be? I've cleared my cache. Flushed the DNS, and checked that ZoneAlarm isn;t messing with the hosts file. Any ideas?

Zoom7000 Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 No, it's a machine I use at home - No proxy. I've tried pinging the urls and I can reach them fine. It only appears to affect IE7. When I try in Firefox, I can't get to the sites.
