Hi Gary,

 

We have it running at our site. It works fine, although integration with Office can be problematic in certain places. There are a list of folders that need to be excluded when sequencing otherwise it will fail. If you're interested I can post the list up.

I tried sequencing SIMS.net yesterday and the installer hangs if the App-V Sequencer is running. If i close the sequencer and run setup again it does not hang. Anybody experienced this? (Its Windows 7).

Sorry to bounce an older thread but if any one can provide more info on this that would be great, we are starting to look at it here (after doing many other apps) and seem to have hit a bit of a wall when it comes to sequencing SIMs

Hi,

 

I've just re-sequenced Sims Summer 2011 again this morning using the 4.6 SP1 sequencer on XP. This did not require any of the previously mentioned exclusions to be set.

It did however error if SimsLoad.exe was run, but plain pulsar runs fine (which your shortcut should be pointed at anyway).

 

I'm about to have a go at sequencing on windows 7 using 4.6 SP1 and see if I have more success this time.

Also how does SIMS work with a virtual Office install (if you know)?

Hi,

 

My XP Virtual Machine is setup with a basic install on Windows XP SP3, non domain joined with .Net2, 3, 3.5 and 4 installed. I have the App-V Sequencer 4.6 SP1 installed also.

 

To get the virtualised SIMS to work with office you have two choices.

1) If you have office installed locally: Set Local_Interaction_Allowed to True in the osd file.

2) If you have office virtualised: Copy the Codebase tag from office into a dependency within the sims osd.
