teejay Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Hi, Under the EES agreement we can team up as schools to get a better bulk purchase rate. Our current schools agreement runs out end of this month, so we will be purchsing for the 1st March. Are any other schools on here purchasing at the same time interested in doing a joint purchase?

There will be a lot of people wanting to buy in April, but we're in March, I'm sure if you ask on here nearer the time there will be quite a few to team up with for an April order :-)

I've got some very good pricing already (well worth sticking it on Buying Solutions - The National Procurement Partner for UK Public Services as an invitation to quote) but was hoping to be able to team up to get them to sharpen their pencils even more ;-)

If you are purchasing prior to that (so it is purchased and ready to start on 1st April) then you need to have a valid Schools Agreement in place. If your SA runs out at the end of Feb then you need to apply for a 1 month extension via your existing reseller (you must have this in place before the end of the existing SA).

Until that time, schools customers should continue to buy software licences via Schools Agreement Also from Microsoft: Under this agreement you can license a single school, multiple schools or an entire school system, such as a local authority. Doesn't have to be in the same LEA.

teejay Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 Ignore this thread, after speaking to Microsoft again, yes you can do a bulk purchase if you combine schools, BUT, there must be some legal form of connection with the schools, such as in the same academy group, same LEA etc.

The primay reason is to ensure that these memebers are qualified educational users and to ensure that the organisation is prepared to give their members the necessary information regarding the terms and conditions of their agreement. I will find out the specifics of the Consortia organizations, i.e LEA or location. Regards Sukh
localzuk Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 The licensing person from MS at the recent conference discussed this and said that 'multiple schools' means 'multiple schools working as one entity, not multiple random schools who decide to team up'. So, if you're a full federation, you are a single entity with multiple schools. If you're just a group of schools who happen to work together, than that wouldn't apply. That was her definition anyway.

Schools which are considered to be a single entity are those with hard or soft federations (and having binding agreements on this, not just partnerships), members of the same academy group or with a set of shared services, schools which have reached an agreement on a buying consortium (again, having the documentation around this), schools who are purchasing via an LA or regional purchasing agreement as a group of schools ...
